The Tata Institute of Social Science was established in the year of 1936. It is located in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India. This Institute also operates out of campus in Hyderabad, Tuljapur and Guwahati. The master degree program in Labour Relations and Human Resource Management is offered in this Institute. This campus is one of the most sought after theprograms in the field of Human Resource in India. This Institute was the first Graduate for Social School in India. In the year of 1964 it was renamed to its current name. It was recognized as a Deemed University in 1964 by the University Grant commission of India. This Institute started out as a small Institute offering a post graduate diploma in social work. But since expanded continuously in terms of educational programmes and Infrastructure. Over the years the institute has among others thrusts made a significant contribution to policy, planning section strategies and human resource development .It had done so in several areas ranging from sustainable rural and urban development to education, human rights, communal harmony and Industrial relations.
